Baseball.
If you hear the word “baseball” in Germany you might find this a little strange. In fact there are now some 30 000 people actively playing baseball or softball. The top teams play in the Bundesliga which is separated into the north and south leagues. Every week 16 teams play against each other in exciting matches.
Near Dusseldorf, the Cologne and Solingen teams play in the premiere league. In 2008 two Japanese players lead for the Cologne Cardinals. For those of you who are saying ''but I don’t know who the players are'' maybe you should just come along and cheer both teams.
On summer days when soccer is off season how about joining in the battle sound, drinking a beer in the German stadiums, and enjoying the atmosphere where the distance between the spectators and pitch are not so far apart.
