In the mood for time travel? Like the romantic atmosphere of parks, castles and gardens? Then visit the gardens of Benrath Castle in the south of Dusseldorf.

This delight is more than 200 years old and impresses with huge parks. A broad variety of gardens such as the kitchen garden, the pleasure garden and other areas English or French influence are free to discover. The whole park is the result of constant styling through the last couple of centuries. The Schloss Benrath is a Rococo "maison de plaisance" with elements of neoclassicism.

Three museums are gathered under one roof, the museum of European Garden Art, the "Corps de Logis" and the Museum of Natural History. All of them offer several changing exhibitions, concerts and events with a good variety of themes.

The exotic birds that have settled in the treetops of the parkway are rather special and they give a unique and extraordinary beauty to the atmosphere.

A glance at their homepage gives a wonderful impression of the Castle and its Gardens.
