Modern day Vikings board your dragonboats! The Medienhafen is the location of the annual Stadtwerke Dragonboat Regatta. The teams will arrive at 10 am, while the actual qualification races will start at 11.30 am.
On Saturday the participants will fight for the title “Business Champion”, while on Sunday the “Fun Champion” is chosen among the diverse participants. The many teams consist of company employers racing for the victory of their business, city employers representing their specific departments as well as the arms of the law, attorneys and police. The wholly equipped boats are provided by the Stadtwerke. On both days people who are not into boats will ship the water on giant red inflated donut shaped rings. In addition to impressive sporting records on the water, you will have the chance to enjoy a rich cultural program on land. American-style cheer leading squads, Asian martial arts and German bakery fresh “Drachen Berliner”, the delicious dough ball speciality, are a valuable addition to a fun day at Medienhafen.
