Events.

From Carnival to the Fun Fair to Christmas, festivals fill life in the Rhineland, where virtually any excuse will do for a parade, a street party or dazzling display of fireworks – boosting beer and sausage sales on a grand scale.

People here love to let their hair down and have a good time. All year round, the narrow bar-lined streets of Düsseldorf’s Altstadt are packed with revellers, especially during the days and weeks leading up to Christmas and Lent and on long summer evenings. In Düsseldorf, partying is practically an expression of local patriotism.
