Jazz fans, check this, the so-called jazz smithy, Jazz-Schmiede, is the place to go in Dusseldorf. Its name derives from its location, the old blacksmiths in the Salzmannhaus, and their way of producing fine jazz.
Musicians from the region can be experienced and the Jazz-Schmiede is also active on the international stage. It offers Jam Sessions and special concerts with guests from all manner of countries and cabarets round off their programme.
Brought to life in 1995 through an initiative of the association Jazz in Dusseldorf. who rebuilt a concert hall with special acoustics, equipped a studio and originated an art space. A versatile programme in modern jazz, sessions with students of the colleges of Cologne and Essen and Open Air concerts in the Hofgarten are exemplary for the change in and their support of jazz and musicians.
