The American-German Business Club was founded in 1964 in Bonn by a group of American business men. The club is a private non-profit, international organization. Its activities are designed to strengthen the ties between representatives of American and German business through personal networking in an informal atmosphere.

Besides Dusseldorf the AGBC is represented in Bonn, Frankfurt, Heidelberg, Kaiserslautern, Karlsruhe, Munich, Saxony as well as Stuttgart and Washington DC/Baltimor,US. The main goal is the international cooperation. Today the AGBC has about 700 members which come from a wide background of professions, including finance, telecommunications, media, entertainment, law, travel, construction, real estate, consultants, defense, language services, insurance, publishing, education as well as various marketing and communication services.

The national office of the AGBC e. V. is the central point of contact for new groups. The members consistently meet regularly. The AGBC accents the importance of supporting free trade, sharing of ideas benefiting both countries, and personal interaction between business people within Germany.
