It looks like a more gentle version of tennis, but playing a match of badminton can be as exhausting as tennis.

Badminton was played in ancient Greece and Egypt, but turned out to be a mass sports when it was imported from India by the British Army in the 19th century. The noble residence of Badminton House in England, home of the Dukes of Beaufort, was the location where the sport was made popular and received its name.
