Every year during the peak of the summer, the biggest funfair on the Rhine takes place on the shores of the river Rhine. Pink Monday has become an unofficial tradition at the fair attracting hundreds and thousands of people from the gay and lesbian community alone, fast becoming the biggest gay and lesbian event in the city of Düsseldorf.
Tens of thousands of people romp over the fair every year and on this special day travel far to enjoy the numerous booths, food and drinks stalls complete the gigantic funfair city, which covers an area of about 165,000 m ² and a length of 4.5 kilometres.
