There are numerous parks dotted throughout the area, a well connected network of cycle paths and good recreation facilities in for most of the things that you could wish for.

Community services are well organised and plentiful, as are private institutions where you can just get away from it all and have fun as a family.

A helpful organisation for international expat teens is YouthCompass Europe. Programmes provide advisory services for teenagers who have difficulty with their new situation. They also organise events and community activities. Projects take place in Düsseldorf.
