The fast way to Shangri-La? Asia’s economy continues to expand and so do the number of flights to the industrial and commercial centres of the largest and most populous continent.
Dusseldorf’s newest links to Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Bejing, Guangzhou, Bangkok, Mumbai and Delhi go via Nordic Helsinki. Finnair services Dusseldorf-Helsinki three times daily with direct connecting flights to Asia’s premier destinations. From June 2008 Finnair will also be offering daily flights to Seoul.
Supporting Finnair’s “The World is not a Pancake” activities, a promotion campaign was held on Tuesday and Wednesday, 18 and 19 September 2007 on Heinrich-Heine-Platz, in the heart of Dusseldorf. Free pancakes were served at the Guinness world record breaking event. The challenge was to toss a pancake higher than the current Guinness Book of Records 3,35 meters and recover it successfully in the pan. The 17 years-old Manuel Gnoza achieved an incredible height of 4,50 meters! As winner of the challenge he will receive a free return ticket to Hong Kong.
